A place where every child belongs

School holidays are meant to be the easy part of the year. For families raising children with autism, ADHD or additional learning needs, they can be the hardest. Mainstream holiday clubs are often loud, crowded and unpredictable, and for a child who depends on routine and calm, that is not a break. It is six weeks of being somewhere that was never built with them in mind.

Dwylo Hapus was started by local parents who know that feeling first hand. The name means Happy Hands in Welsh, and the idea behind it is simple. Every child deserves somewhere they feel safe, accepted and understood, and if that place does not exist, you build it. In March 2026 that idea became a registered charity, number 1217157, based in the Llantrisant area and set up to subsidise play and childcare for children with complex and additional needs across the school holidays.

So they did. Dwylo Hapus runs holiday club sessions designed from the ground up for children with additional needs. Smaller groups, calmer spaces, people who understand why a routine matters and what to do when a day goes sideways. For the children it is somewhere to actually enjoy the holidays. For the parents it is a few hours of knowing their child is exactly where they should be.

Why we stepped in

Coast is a family business, and this is the kind of cause that does not need a pitch. A group of parents saw a gap in support for local families and gave up their own time to fill it. That deserves backing.

We sponsor Dwylo Hapus and fundraise for them, because a charity this young runs on goodwill and small budgets, and every pound goes a long way when the people spending it are the same people who built the thing.

What our sponsorship covers

We support Dwylo Hapus with direct sponsorship and by fundraising for the charity, helping them keep sessions running and open to the families who need them.

If your family could benefit from what Dwylo Hapus offers, or you want to support them yourself, you can reach the team at [email protected].
